Goðafoss is Icelandic for "waterfall of the gods or waterfall of the goði." It is located in the North-Central Iceland. The water of the river Skjálfandafljót falls from a height of 12 meters over a width of 30 meters.

Selfoss sits just a few hundered meters downstream from Dettifoss, the the most powerful waterfall in Europe. I think Selfoss is the more photogenic of these two incredible waterfalls, which is a bit like asking which is your favorite planet - they're both amazing! Dedicated to Tony Spencer.

This stretch of black basalt sand in Vik is one of the wettest places in Iceland. The cliffs west of the beach are home to many seabirds, most notably puffins, which burrow into the shallow soils during the nesting season.
